1. The Hulusi is a free-reed instrument with one main pipe for melody plus two additional pipe for harmony.
2. Origin from Yunnan China and play by Dai (Tai) minority in China. Made of three bamboo (or redwood) pipes surrounded by a gourd as a wind chamber. The sound produce by the brass reed from each pipe.
3. Can play melody solo from the main pipe or play harmony from select two pipes to three pipes. The name of HULUSI comes from ‘HULU’ which means the gourd.
